In 2016, we installed an innovative combustion boiler for a client in the Netherlands, specifically designed for burning dust as biomass. Using dust as a fuel presents unique technical challenges. Our system design ensures a controlled combustion process, with the dust supply being precisely metered and applied to the combustion grate.

The key to safe and efficient combustion lies in optimal control of the process, both on the grate and in the firebox. This is crucial for maintaining stable temperatures, achieving complete combustion, and minimizing risks.

To meet the strict nitrogen emission standards, urea injection was used. Here too, a stable and controlled combustion process is essential. Only under the right conditions – the correct temperature, fuel distribution, and air supply – can urea effectively reduce nitrogen oxides.

We've also integrated a water pipe cooling screen into the combustion chamber for efficient cooling. This technology is standard practice when burning dry biomass and contributes to the safe and sustainable operation of the system.
