Our client, an animal feed producer, needed a sustainable solution for steam generation within their production process. The system must be able to supply a fluctuating amount of superheated steam and is therefore equipped with an accumulator to absorb peaks and troughs. The project includes the engineering, installation, and commissioning of a 40-bar biomass steam boiler.

Innovative Steam Solution for Animal Feed Production
The system is adapted to the biomass used. To accommodate peaks and troughs in steam demand, the system is equipped with an accumulator. Installation and commissioning of the accumulator is part of KARA's scope of delivery.
Biomass combustion
The biomass, consisting of wood pellets and agricultural waste, is burned in an efficient boiler equipped to process G120 biomass. This ensures high energy density and clean combustion with minimal emissions.
Biomass logistics
The biomass is stored and distributed via a system of augers, slides, and conveyor belts, with storage in a silo and a conveyor belt in a bunker. A crane and hopper ensure continuous supply to the boiler.
Biomass output
The output consists of hot water and steam. The turbine is out of service due to incompatibility with the current production process
Flue gas cleaning
The flue gases are cleaned using PA filters and E-filters, which minimizes emissions and meets all environmental standards.
