Efficient Bio-Energy Boiler for District Heating

Bio-Energy for Dutch district heating: our client needed a hot water boiler for their district heating network. This boiler had to be able to supply a water temperature of 125°C and have a capacity of 7.9 MW at a pressure of 6 bar. It also included a hot water economizer and flue gas condenser for optimal efficiency.

Innovative Hot Water Solution for District Heating

District heating in the Netherlands is being optimized with a new 7.9 MW hot water boiler. This installation is designed for future expansion and offers high efficiency thanks to a hot water economizer and flue gas condenser. The boiler uses wood chips as biomass and ensures environmentally friendly heat generation.
Biomass supply
The biomass, consisting of wood shreds with a moisture content of 55%, is supplied via a system of slides and a moving floor. This ensures a continuous and reliable fuel supply.
Biomass logistics
The biomass is stored and distributed via a system of slides and moving floors. This logistics system is designed for an efficient and uninterrupted supply of wood chips to the boiler's combustion chamber.
Biomass output
The plant's output consists of 7.9 MW of hot water, including a hot water economizer and flue gas condenser for increased efficiency. This hot water is used for the district heating network.
Flue gas cleaning
The combustion flue gases are effectively cleaned using a multi-cyclone and fabric filter. These filters minimize harmful emissions and ensure that the system meets strict environmental standards.
