Delivery of a 4 MW wood-fired boiler at IPS GmbH in Essen
We delivered a wood-fired boiler with a thermal output of 4 MW (105-degree hot water) to IPS Internationale Paletten Service GmbH. The system is the heart of IPS GmbH's new factory in Essen and supplies heat to new pallet drying rooms, supplied by sister company BES Bollmann. Some of the generated energy is also used to heat the production halls.
PROJECT FEATURES
- Installation of a wood-fired boiler with a thermal output of 4 MW, which produces hot water at 105°C
- Supplies heat to five new pallet drying rooms with a total capacity of 9,000 Euro pallets
- Use of waste wood and shredded old pallets as fuel

- Heat supply for new and existing production halls
- Relocation of an existing drying room from Bottrop to Essen

Innovative Heating Solution for Pallet Production
The Dutch company KARA Energy Systems has delivered a wood-fired boiler with a thermal output of 4 MW to IPS Internationale Paletten Service GmbH. This boiler supplies heat to new pallet drying rooms and production halls, ensuring efficient and environmentally friendly heat generation.
Biomass combustion
The biomass, consisting of waste wood and shredded old pallets, is burned in an efficient boiler specifically designed for this type of fuel. This ensures high energy density and clean combustion with minimal emissions.
Biomass logistics
Biomass storage and distribution is achieved through an advanced system of conveyor belts and scraper chain conveyors, designed to ensure an efficient and uninterrupted supply of fuel to the boiler combustion chamber.
Biomass output
The system's output consists of 4 MW of hot water, which is used to heat pallet drying rooms and production halls. This heating solution is essential for IPS GmbH's production processes.
Flue gas cleaning
The combustion flue gases are cleaned using a cyclone filter and an electrostatic filter. These filters minimize harmful emissions and ensure that the system meets the strict emissions standards of the 44th BImSchV.
