Rubinmühle - biomass power plant

KARA Future Energy Systems has reached a significant milestone in the construction of a new biomass power plant at Rubinmühle in Lahr, Germany. On September 18, the boiler was successfully hoisted into place. The installation will use oat hulls from its own production process to generate steam for Rubinmühle's industrial processes.

Oat hulls as a renewable energy source

The new biomass plant utilizes oat hulls released during oat processing. This biomass residue stream is thereby given a valuable application: supplying renewable energy for the factory itself.

By using locally available oat hulls for industrial steam production, Rubinmühle reduces its dependence on fossil fuels. The project demonstrates how the food industry can utilize its own residual streams to make its energy supply more sustainable.

Collaboration with Rubinmühle and MVV Enamic

KARA is realizing the project together with Rubinmühle and MVV Enamic GmbH. The installation of the boiler required precise coordination between engineering, logistics, and execution. With this step, the commissioning of the biomass power plant in Lahr comes closer.

With this project, KARA Future Energy Systems contributes to making industrial steam production in Germany more sustainable.
